---Irene Murphy nourished her love of art by attending St. Clair Community College. There she obtained an Associates Degree in Advertising Design. During her time at St Clair, her exploration of color and design sparked an interest in silk screening techniques. Her personal artistic interests were put on hold while she followed a career in advertising. Eventually, Irene desired an opportunity to focus on her own artistic development and style. She left advertising to pursue those goals. Irene currently creates serigraphs, which are fine art prints created by silk screening, which she calls realistically abstract. Irene is also skilled with the use of geometrics, which she utilizes, in her architecturally inspired pen and ink compositions.
